Pals of Preschoolers...
is changing to VIP (Volunteers in Preschool)

One of the most exciting places to be on Sunday morning is the Preschool Building. It has the hustle and bustle of DFW Airport: parents picking up and dropping off their youngsters, all ages of children are eager to see their friends and teachers, and our dedicated teachers and PALS/VIPs hurry to their classes. God has blessed us in a great way! Jesus says, "Whoever welcomes a child, welcomes Me." Matthew 18:5 You can participate in the Children's Ministry through our VIP Ministry. This is an opportunity to work with children ages birth through 4 years of age. This ministry requires a commitment to work during the 9:45 and/or 11:15 a.m. worship service(s) four times a year, or as often as you would like to. The Facts Every Sunday in addition to our Preschool Bible Study teachers, it requires 100 people to care for our preschoolers while parents attend the worship service. With every Preschool parent scheduled to be a Pal, we still need almost 500 additional people like you to help us. Qualifications Enjoy being with children Volunteer at least 4 times per year Love the Lord and want to share His love with others What You Need to Know You will be asked to serve 4-6 times per year You will be trained soon to be posted online You will have help available. Every room must have at least two volunteers You will receive a reminder card the week you are to serve If you have a conflict on the week you are scheduled, you can trade with someone else on the schedule You will receive a blessing! Training Tips for Pals Scheduling Soon you will be able to locate your name and confirm your attendance online. You will receive a reminder card in the mail the week you are scheduled. Arrival Please check in at the Pals desk in the Preschools Building on your scheduled Sunday. You will receive a name tag identifying you as a Pal. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your time of service. The Sunday School teachers that have been in your room the previous hour will need that time to pass on any information to you that you might need and still have time to get to worship. Security GABC has a check-in system in place for babies through four year olds. Parents will check their children in at the Atrium Welcome Desk and receive 3 stickers. One sticker goes on the child, one to the teacher at the door and one is required to pick the child up. If a parent does not have a sticker to turn in when they pick up a child, pick up the telephone in the room and dial "0" and a Children's staff member will come to the room to approve the release of the child. Activities There will be activities provided in the 1-4 year old Pals/VIP rooms. There should be a bucket in your room that contains "simple activities" for the children to do during the hour. The 3- and 4-year-olds will have a schedule of activities to follow, along with attending a big group time, they will be led in singing songs and story time. Be sure they are wearing their name sticker with the room number on them. Communication There is an intercom system throughout all of the rooms that Pals/VIPs can use to communicate with staff members. You should see a black telephone on the wall near the door. You can dial "0" at any time to be connected with the front desk of the Children's Building.
