Our Mission Strategy

Our Missions Ministry is centered around 6 areas of participation:


 

 
 
1 Missions Committee
PURPOSE: To enable the church to fulfill the Great Commission, locally in cooperation with the Smith County Baptist Association and the Baptist General Convention of Texas, nationally in cooperation with the North American Mission Board, and internationally in cooperation with the International Mission Board (Southern Baptist Convention).


 

 
 
4 Sub-Committees
Centered around the Acts 1:8 Model of Ministry: “… and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” To see how our ministry is divided into 4 sub-committees, visit our missions home page. Our Strategy: “To establish Strategic Mission Partnerships according to the Acts 1:8 model.”

5 Mission Support Teams 
Purpose: “to meet the needs of the missionaries and actively partner with them to carry out the partnership strategy.” We have mission support teams for 5 international missionaries at this time:
  • Pacific Rim
  • Central Asia
  • Northup Family (Canada)
  • Larzabal Family (Colombia)
  • Cannon Family (Costa Rica)


 
 
1,000 Mission Volunteers
This includes GABC Members being involved in: 
  • Short Term Trips
  • Ongoing Ministry
  • Team Leader Training
  • Cross Cultural Training
  • Ministry Orientation


 
 
5,000 Prayer Partners
Goal:
  • 100% Participation of GABC Members
  • Each Member Chooses or Assigned a Partnership
  • Each Member Receives Periodic Updates and Requests from Partnership
  • Mobilize Members 
  • Monthly Prayer Meeting for All Partnerships
