Lanette James, GABC Minister to Children, was born in San Diego and moved to Farmersville, Texas at age 12. She grew up in a Christian family with four other siblings and says, "I have always been very involved in my church and knew God had a special place for me in ministry so I began to search." Lanette holds a B.S. in Elementary/Early Childhood Education and a M.Ed. from East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas and served two years as a journeyman in Liberia, West Africa.
Lanette came to GABC in March 2002 from First Baptist Church, Columbia, South Carolina, where she served nearly ten years as Children's Minister. She also served as a children's intern at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas.
It is her desire for children to come to know Christ and build life-long habits that will lead them to be the Christian leaders of tomorrow.
